Here are the main ladies of “The Daily Gyaru”. The whole original trio of Cassy, Melanie, and Amy is featured in the vast majority of the content, with some occasional solo episodes for each of the girls. Rhia teased her way not only into Melanie’s heart but many others’, so she officially joined the main cast!

Cassy was my first original character and probably the one who’s changed the most since her initial concept.

Her core traits haven’t shifted all that much: she’s still a high-energy, buff, busty, tanned gal. But originally, I pictured her as hyper-confident and hypersexual, with a bold “I get what I want” attitude.

Pretty quickly, though, she evolved into something much cuter — with a slightly childish and naïve streak. That said, she’s definitely not meant to be dumb. On the contrary, she can be a high achiever when she puts her mind to it. Her physique alone is a clear testament to that (though there’s another layer to it I may or may not explore at some point).

Her default outfit also changed over time — from a more typical gyaru look to the current, much cuter camisole and skirt combo (in my opinion, anyway). Overall, I think the gap moe between her strong body and her sweet, bubbly demeanor just fits her perfectly. Honestly, I find buff Cassy comes off even cuter than if she had more regular proportions.

  Well… if Cassy is chaos, Melanie is her counterweight. On the surface she comes off as cold, aloof, and easily bored — almost Cassy’s complete opposite in temperament. But peel back that layer and you’ll find they share a surprising amount in common.

Mel’s the kind of girl who quietly wants the best for everyone around her. She’ll rarely make a fuss about it, but she’s always there in the background making sure things run smoothly. Unlike Cassy, she’s shy and reserved, avoiding the spotlight and lending her support in more subtle ways. Both girls are enablers — just in very different flavors.

Among the trio, Melanie is by far the most “motherly” and mature. She craves peace and quiet… though ever since Cassy entered her life, she doesn’t get nearly as much of it. Still, despite the teasing and bickering, the two click surprisingly well — and every so often, a little too well.

Sexually, Melanie is firmly a lesbian, but that doesn’t mean her imagination is restrained. Being reserved meant her outlet was building up quite the stash of doujinshi and a wide array of fetishes. One of her biggest? Futanari. And in true Mel fashion, she wouldn’t just want to admire it — she’d want to experience things from both sides.

Well… Amy was more or less the result of a joke on Discord. But I really liked the idea of having a sassy, blunt Scottish lass as part of the crew, so she stuck around. It also gave me the excuse to sneak in a super-subtle Xenoblade reference. In terms of character, she kind of took over a lot of the ideas from “Proto-Cassy.” She’s a free spirit — confident, knows what she wants, and goes for it… and quite often, what she wants is a bit of intimate fun.

That said, she’s still a nice girl at heart. She’d never force herself on anyone — not that she’s ever been in a situation where that even came up.

She has a softer side, too, and tends to get flustered and shy when things get unfamiliar. Being able to crank the gap moe up to eleven with her now and then is definitely a treat.

She’s a proud Scotswoman and dresses like it… a red kilt matching her fiery hair and of course NO panties. Up top she wears a simple cropped, open blue denim jacket, leaving her arms and chest at full display. Her chest is covered by a white bandeau. So she’s wearing the Scottish flag colours “on her chest”.

Well… bootleg Nia from XC2 turned into a full-fledged OC. Rhia keeps the white hair and thick Welsh accent, but she’s a very different beast otherwise.

While she has a “modern” outfit, her design incorporates elements like a tooth necklace and fur-trimmed clothing, giving her a Celtic and slightly feral edge. Her palette is mostly white/silver and black, accented with red and green — a subtle nod to the Welsh flag.

By “popular” demand, she is canonically a futa. Thanks to magic-foxgirl logic she could disguise her extra bits, but she usually doesn’t. Rhia enjoys being admired just as she is. She’s more than generously endowed, knows it, and likes others to know too.

She’s usually calm and collected, except when someone mocks her accent. Rhia enjoys being seen as the group’s “pet,” though much like a cat or fox, it’s never quite clear who’s really in charge. She enjoys sex almost as much as Amy, but with far less relentless energy (a relief for the others), and plays the role of sly seductress. She likes to show off, but is far less “in your face” about it than Amy or Azdael. Still, if someone is slow to respond to her advances, she won’t hesitate to take charge. Like the rest of the crew, she’s good-natured; her sly pushiness only comes out with people she already knows well.

Melanie, in particular, is weak to Rhia’s “charms” — and it didn’t take long for the fox to learn every button to press… and when to press them.

By now the cast expanded past the main girls. These characters won’t appear quite as often, but will have interactions with the girls and may even appear in their own solo episodes.

Sandra was an idea that had been floating around in my head for a while and honestly, I found the thought of giving her an extremely German last name pretty amusing. She’s meant to be the strict, “well-mannered” type compared to the rest of the cast, and actually mature… even if, like many anime women, she barely looks the part. She may come across as cold at times, but she’s genuinely caring underneath it all.

She wants her students to succeed and believes the best way to ensure that is by instilling the values that got her where she is — much to her students’ dismay.

Sandra initially was not supposed to appear very often, since she doesn’t quite mesh with the chaos of the main cast. But in scenes that call for a more serious tone or where Melanie is not enough to reign the other girls in, she definitely has a place.

Sandra has a history with Amy, who used to be a student under “Dr. Flößer.” The two are practically opposites in personality, so naturally, they butted heads — which could make for some fun and revealing interactions. Sandra became a bit of a mentor figure for the whole cast, or the voice of reason when even Melanie isn’t enough. She also warmed up to the group where most people can sneak in a “Sandra” without being scolded… except for Amy of course! But that’s more to Sandra’s personal amusement than any real insistence on honorifics.

As a character, she basically exists to give me more freedom with futa and FMG stuff. However, I think her character and ability ideas are pretty neat.

By default, she appears as a short, brown-haired succubus. But she has the ability to transform and read minds (on contact), so she uses that to transform into the form her “partners” desire most. She acquired her tall and muscular form by peeking into the mind of a The Daily Gyaru fan — that’s why she kinda looks like a merge of all three main girls and retains a few features from her original appearance. She has since taken a particular liking to that form and may even use it if her partner hasn’t fully discovered their love for muscle girls yet. A little push never hurt anyone, right?

I guess on the surface, there’s not too much to say about Siggy… he’s the male self-insert to a large degree.

He also exists because I did generate some boy/girl scenes with Cassy — and she’s just not the kind of girl who randomly sleeps around, so she needed a more stable partner!

In the setting, Cassy and Siggy have been friends since childhood and initially bonded over their mutual dislike of their first names. Siggy has always been protective of Cassy; however, at least when it comes to physical protection, she really doesn’t need it anymore — a fact he still hasn’t quite come to terms with. Luckily, Cassy still likes to rely on his help in many other ways.

The two of them are not officially a couple, but they’re also more than just “friends with benefits.” The idea is that there’s definite (mutual) affection, but so far they’ve never felt the need to really sort it out.

Amy has also taken a liking to the “wee lad,” and Melanie appreciates his help in handling Cassy. So all the girls get along with him in one way or another.

Weirdly enough, getting Siggy right in images is surprisingly difficult. He’s supposed to be somewhat physically fit and toned, but still significantly smaller than the girls and noticeably shorter than Cassy and Amy, while also not looking like a 12-year-old boy…

Ilyana belongs to Yargilfist(check out their DA!). I included her because I got tentative requests and thought it’d be a nice surprise. Since then I’ve received requests from others to include her more and I gladly do so! So she’s now an honorary cast member or something.

When she appears in my work she’s downsized from her canonical proportions, but still remains the biggest character in basically all aspects.

The current idea is that she might serve as a bit of a mentor character for the other girls.

Well… as you can see this is Gloria from Pokémon Sword & Shield, but as an adult and TDG proportions. Please don’t DMCA me Nintendo. 😨

“But why, tho?” you may ask? Gloria is the “original” Scottish Pokémon trainer and basically gave me the idea for the whole story. “What if Amy was the Scottish Pokémon trainer?” is a question I just had to answer. Towards the end of the story I thought it’s a great idea to actually have a Gloria cameo. But just a short throwaway appearance didn’t feel quite right. So she became Amy’s love interest in the story.

And then I just thought it’s a cute idea to have this as a non-canon event in the “main timeline”… this status didn’t last long and a buff Gloria moved in next door to Amy…

Coming up with the content for the “future” timeline cemented Gloria as Amy’s “main partner” first ending in marriage and children. It just felt right for these two.

Character-wise, she’s not that different from the game version… just more adult… which isn’t that far in character from Amy to begin with. She’s confident, energetic… and pretty fucking strong in body and mind!

A few words about her surname: She does not seem to have a canon name in the games, nor a common fan name. Except “Shield”… but that’s lame. So I picked MacIlroy. Sounds properly Scottish, but it’s a little deeper than that. You see the Gaelic equivalent of her surname is IlleRuaidh… if that sounds familiar… it’s because that’s also the Gaelic equivalent of Amy’s last name! So they essentially have the same surname from the get go, which I thought is a cute subtle detail.

I could see this being a plot point, where upon marriage they actually change their names to the Gaelic version. To sidestep any “whose name” issues. They’d also both find it hilarious seeing people struggle to pronounce the name. And accordingly their children would be Nic’IlleRuaidh and Mac’IlleRuaidh.

Melanie and Rhia’s oldest daughter from the “Glimpse of the Future” setting. She was just supposed to be in a single dream sequence of Mel and Rhia, but – as usual – I’m not good at throwing away my throw-away creations and now she has a full profile, too!

Initially thought of as just a teen, there’s now also an adult version due to “audience demand”. 😅

An energetic teenager who loves to get a rise out of her mothers. In general though, she thinks her mums are… pretty acceptable. She’s just embarrassed whenever they still act like lovestruck teens… which happens A LOT. Melanie instilled a love of reading in her, while Ciri took to helping Rhia craft and build things around the house. A DIY person who actually reads the manual? A deadly combo! She’s naturally active and shows no signs of lagging behind her mothers athletically. Ciri is fairly toned for her age despite avoiding strength training like the plague, not wanting to be seen as a “meatball”. Cassy, Amy and Siggy were constantly around during her early childhood, so they’re family to Ciri, almost as much as her four younger sisters.

Her character and design merge various aspects from Melanie and Rhia’s design. She’s fairly energetic, like Rhia, but has a deadpan delivery like Melanie. She has Melanie’s black hair and blunt bangs, but also white streaks and “spiked” hair like Rhia. Green eyes, but with slit pupils, wears a choker, but also Rhia’s tooth necklace etc. She is more of a grower, but ultimately similarly well endowed. However, she doesn’t like to show off, unlike her mother Rhia.

Some thoughts on her name: Ceridwen is a name from Welsh and Celtic mythology and therefore goes well with her fox mother’s name: Rhiannon. Ceridwen was an enchantress that made a potion that grants the gift of wisdom and poetic inspiration in her magic cauldron Awen, so that somewhat digs into Melanie’s interests. On top of that… the name just sounds good and is fairly uncommon, so these two would absolutely pick something like this. It also fairly smoothly leads to the “Ciri” nickname… an obvious “The Witcher” reference. Finally Ceridwen Cicchetti = CC/Cece is a subtle Hololive nod.

Fiona-Amata is Amy’s oldest daughter, her father is Ricardo. Fiona managed to gather a wealth of nicknames, including Fi, Fio, Fi-Fi (Cassy), Wee-Fi (Amy herself) and sometimes Amata by Ricardo and Melanie, or Ama-tan by Yuki.

She has her father’s green eyes and tan, and is currently into “aunt” Cassy’s gyaru fashion from the past. In most other aspects, she resembles her mother… fiery red, untamed hair, freckles, blunt, no-nonsense, open for anything… also in bed… and prefers her arms big and her Scots brogue thick.

The idea is to have an Amy 2.0 but still with a few key differences. The main visual difference being the Gyaru aesthetic (which works pretty well with a kilt I must say), and while not more academically competent, Fiona is more academically inclined than her mother. Her clothing preferences aside, she is also more in line with the whole academic process. She’s the student Sandra hoped Amy could be! That being said, she’ll still happily slam your arm on the table in an arm-wrestling match and then give you a bosie, hugging you with her mighty arms, burying your face in her ample chest — the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree after all!

And we’ll finish with some name lore again:
Fiona-Amata was Ricardo’s pick, Amy’s full first name is Aimee-Ffion (Welsh name with a French and Welsh/Gaelic part… also a Xenoblade reference… first name of Mio’s VA) and Ricardo more or less decided to move that around. Fiona also has Gaelic roots and is phonetically similar to Ffion (although different root word), and Amata is more or less the Italian version of Aimee. So Fiona actually has a very similar name to Amy!

Yuki is Cassy’s daughter and the older of the two Kanayama children. She has a minor melanin deficiency, resulting in white hair, fair skin and pink eyes. She has to be careful in the sun, but is more than healthy otherwise — eclipsing her mother on basically all metrics… taller, even more muscular and… more cushioning up front. 😉 Of course, she also inherited the characteristic heart ahoge! As she is even taller than Cassy and those two are the tallest members of the Kanayama family by a long shot, Yuki’s sometimes dubbed Shiroyama-chan.

She’s fairly calm most of the time, but shares her mother’s positivity, with occasional enthusiastic emotional outbursts when excited. While Yuki is genuine in her appraisal of others, she has a tendency to dish out gentle roasts; however, it’s never mean-spirited. She is fully aware of her physical prowess and can get fairly competitive. Like her mother Cassy, she deploys emoji frequently, albeit in a more muted form.

Yuki taps heavily into her Japanese heritage and comes off as a bit of a “weeb”. She speaks fluent Japanese, took every chance she got to spend time with her Japanese relatives, loves manga and anime, and also enjoys ikebana and calligraphy. While most of her hobbies are “chill”, she is also a fierce practitioner of the family martial art style: Kanayama-Ryu.

Name Lore:
I picked Yuki after deciding on white hair/fair skin, since it means “snow” (雪), but it can also mean “happiness”(幸)! So that’s a good name for the first child. 😄 Basically Cassy & Siggy would be aware of her condition pre-birth, and that’s why they decided on the name. I decided to make her the biggest and physically most capable character to underline that her condition doesn’t hold her back in any way.
